"The Year of Spiritual Growth"

The Year of Spiritual Growth

Happy New Year! – September 1 marks the beginning of the ecclesiastical New Year and the indiction. It also falls on a Sunday this year. I pray everyone has had a happy healthy and blessed summer. As with every New Year, we want this one to count! Instead of making another resolution that is based in worldly pursuits, let’s make a spiritual resolution as we start the new church year.

We have posted New Year resolutions in the Hellenic Center and on our website. Many of these are very easy to accomplish. Some you may already do! Yet, this year we are not only pledging to follow through with our efforts, we are going to share the joy of our Orthodox Christian Faith with our St. Nicholas family. We are setting up a blog to share the blessings we experience through praying, attending, reading, sharing and doing all that is good and holy about our resolution.

Here is how it works!

  1. We sign up for one or more New Year resolutions for spiritual growth.
  2. We list our email address and / or phone number.
  3. We start on September 1, 2013
  4. Our church office will send us the blog information. We share our experience on the blog through August 31, 2014.

At the end of the church year we will collect some of the brightest moments and add them to our website. Not only will you receive emails, apps, websites and information to help you keep your resolution, but you will have opportunities to speak with each other on Sundays, Wednesday evening family night and Saturday morning Bible Study and other church events.
The sign up dates are: September 1 & 8, 2013.

Please access our Ecclesiastical New Year Spiritual Resolutions webpage for more information.

TRY TO BE REALISTIC ABOUT WHAT YOU CHOOSE, AND EVERYONE WILL SUPPORT YOU!!!!

REMEMBER TO HAVE COURAGE IN THE FACE OF LIFE’S INTERRUPTIONS AND START AGAIN!
